Rangers Tax Case has stepped into the row over BBC Scotland’s attempt to smeer Celtic and Dermot Desmond.

Funded by the licence payer on Monday BBC Scotland excitedly splashed with the news that an Irish businessman was listed in the Paradise Papers regarding a company he was involved and the Swiss tax authorities.

Such was the excitement of the state broadcaster that six days before releasing the news they ‘doorstepped’ Dermot Desmond as he attended the Celtic v Bayern Munich.

In only the most narrow and parochial viewpoint could it be described in the public interest but perhaps BBC Scotland judge public opinion by reviewing message boards of the most extreme Ibrox fan groups.

If Mark Daly and the BBC want to get their teeth into some footy scandal they should check out the guy currently running matters at Ibrox- he is almost as dubious as the guy that took a pound coin from a former billionaire in 2011.

In their big follow up to Monday’s news BBC Scotland revealed that the company that owns the St Enoch Centre were included in the Paradice Papers.
