Thirty years ago Celtic were into their stride in their Centenary season with momentum building towards a memorable domestic double.

It was one of the most enjoyable seasons since Lisbon as Billy McNeill returned to the helm and rebuilt the team despite the economic monster being constructed across the city.

That squad went down in the history books but sadly it was to be another decade before the title was reclaimed.

Since the 87/88 season there has been all sorts of dramas around the club, incredible highs, painful lows and the future of the club, or company, in doubt before a new stadium emerged.

It’s not quite an advent calendar but over the next couple of weeks Video Celts will be looking back at the players to have pulled on the hoops with distinction over that period and will ask readers for their votes.

Pat Bonner and Allen McKnight shared the duties in 87/88 but over the last decade the Celtic support has been spoiled by three great keepers. Great in different ways and pivotal to recent successes.
