Aberdeen fight back

Aberdeen are set to shock Sevco by demanding £800,000 up front to TALK to Derek McInnes.

According to a report in the Daily Mail the Dons will request that Sevco transfer the money into their account to demonstrate the seriousness of their interest with the money returned if talks are unsuccessful. Should Sevco want to appoint McInnes the compensation will rise to over £1m if assistant manager Anthony Docherty is also to go to Ibrox.

After weeks of being undermined by a carefully constructed whispering campaign from the bowels of Ibrox it seems that the Dons are ready to fight back and expose Dave King whose QC told the Court of Session in October that his client was penniless.

The move puts further pressure on McInnes with Aberdeen doubting whether Sevco have the funds to pay compensation, install a new manager and provide him with a transfer war-chest..

After an incredible build up to Sunday’s match at Pittodrie there was no developments on Monday with the next 48 hours looking critical for the dwindling credibility of the Ibrox company.

King’s comments have led to expectations of a new manager before Saturday’s match with Ross County.

After back to back wins over Aberdeen Graeme Murty is flavour of the month but if the former Reading boss is still in charge at the weekend it will confirm suspicions that Sevco don’t have the funds to compensate Aberdeen and are hoping that McInnes walks away from Pittodrie.
