Four days after a video clip emerged showing him singing ‘C’mon the Celtic’ Fabio Cardoso is on his way out of Sevco.
Yesterday a report appeared on Portuguese website A Bola linking the defender with a move to struggling Estoril which was quickly picked up and given mileage by the Daily Record and The Sun.
During the summer it was claimed that Sevco spent £1.5m signing Cardoso from Vitoria Setubol amid spin that he was on the fringes of the Portuguese national side and wished to be groomed by Bruno Alves.
Like all of Pedro Caixinha’s signing Cardoso has proved to be a massive flop and is currently being kept out of the side by Danny Wilson.
It’s unlikely that Estoril would be unable to match the 23-year-old’s Ibrox salary but a loan deal would be possible if they could pay a portion of his wages as Sevco attempt to slash costs when the transfer window opens.
Estoril are currently second bottom of the Portuguese having lost 31 goals in 15 matches.
