Celtic fans saluted Kris Boyd for an early Christmas gift as Kilmarnock beat Sevco 2-1 at Rugby Park.
As a pundit it has often seemed that Boyd’s every waking moment is concerned with matters at Ibrox rather than the football club that pay his wages.
Boyd dispelled that notion today with two goals in the 77th and 80th minutes to send Graeme Murty to defeat in his first match as permanent boss of the tribute act.
Kris Boyd looking positively ecstatic after Skelping Sevco. I can’t wait for this weeks article ???????????? @TheClumpany @videocelts @DerryCraic @BarbaraMcMahon8 @Celticnewsnow @CelticGoals @CeltsAreHere @Maclad1888 @LaytonBhoy pic.twitter.com/8LtnkeMlRl

Graeme Murty will be looking forward to Kris Boyd explaining to him how unacceptable it is for a club like Rangers to let a team like Kilmarnock beat them.

Kris Boyd continuing in the same fashion as he has done his entire career. Great at scoring against the diddy teams, but anonymous in the big games.

Proof that Kris Boyd only scores against the wee teams ????

The banter years are too good to be true: two days before Christmas, Rangers lose 2-1 to Kilmarnock with Kris Boyd scoring both goals. Also, Celtic win 3-0 against their rivals and extend their lead at the top of the legaue.

With four defeats in eight matches the pressure is on Murty who has to face Motherwell and Celtic before reaching the winter break.
The win was well deserved for the home team who dominated throughout but looked like missing out on even a point until Boyd struck with his double.
With Celtic beating Aberdeen 3-0 Sevco are now 11 points behind the hoops, three points behind Aberdeen and three ahead of fourth placed Hibs.
