Brendan Rodgers is close to ending a year long hunt to sign Charly Musonda.
According to the well informed Stephen McGowan of the Daily Mail the Chelsea youngster is close to agreeing an 18 month loan deal to join the SPFL champions.
Rodgers has been patient during the January transfer window but seems to have convinced Chelsea and the player that he has the perfect platform to realise the potential in the highly rated teenager.
The Celtic boss has close ties to Chelsea after spending time at Stamford Bridge and is well aware of Musonda’s potential.
The 21-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Real Betis but has been unable to make the breakthrough at Chelsea.
With Ross Barkley recently signed Musonda knows that a solid 18 month stint under Rodgers will put him in a position to break through at Chelsea or elsewhere in the English Premier League.
