Nadir Ciftci hasn’t given up on making it as a Celtic striker.

The 25-year-old will make his debut for Motherwell on Saturday as he begins his fourth loan spell away from Celtic.

Ciftci still has 18 months of his hoops contract to run and is hoping that he can recapture his Dundee United form while on loan at Fir Park.

May 2016, while in loan for Eskisehirspor away to Gaziantepspor, was the last time that Ciftci scored a competitive goal but after a miserable time at Plymouth he is looking to get back on the goal trail.

“There is always hope and there are always doors open so I will think about it when the season is finished,” he told the Daily Record.

“All I want to do right now is concentrate on Motherwell, they have given me this chance to show myself.

“I will give everything that they have given me and look forward to the summer and whatever is going to be.

“I obviously have another year left with Celtic but I will think about it in the summer. Until then I will give everything for Motherwell.”

Ciftci was signed by Ronny Deila in the summer of 2015 but was hampered by a six match domestic suspension.

Deila used the former Dundee United man in some early European ties but quickly returned to Leigh Griffiths to lead the line.

Despite scoring a respectable four goals domestically Ciftci was sent out on loan to Eskisehirspor halfway through his first season at Celtic.
