Ross County have successfully appealed against the red card issued to Tim Chow by Bobby Madden in last week’s Scottish Cup defeat at Kilmarnock.

The appeal means little to the club with Chow free from suspension from his first Scottish Cup tie next season.

In the closing minutes of the game the County defender challenged Rory McKenzie in the penalty box with the Killie striker hitting the deck.

Madden instantly pointed to the penalty spot then red carded Chow with Lee Erwin stepping up to score the only goal of the game and book Kilmarnock a fifth round tie at home to Brora Rangers.

Owen Coyle was furious with the decision but has no comeback with his side knocked out of the competition.

Madden will take charge of tomorrow’s Celtic v Hibs match, his second successive home match in charge of the champions. Celtic’s game against Hearts on Tuesday will be refereed by Craig Thompson.
