No one will mention the R word but revenge will be in the thoughts of the Celtic side as they face Hearts on Tuesday night.

Everything possible went wrong when the hoops lost at Tynecastle last month with the celebrations of the home side lasting long after the final whistle.

Brendan Rodgers called his players into a huddle after the final whistle to recognise their 69 match unbeaten domestic run before taking a salute from the visiting support.

Celtic’s defeat seemed to release an incredible outburst of celebrations but the Bhoys have responded by taking 16 out of 18 points to create an 11 point lead at the top of the Premiership.

Hearts remain a distant fifth in the table and arrive at Celtic Park on the back of a disappointing 1-1 draw at home to Motherwell.

Olivier Ntcham felt the pain of that afternoon at Tynecastle and knows the value of three points on Tuesday night.

It is important for the team and for the supporters as well that we beat Hearts after the defeat the last time we played them,” the midfielder told the Evening Times. “Sometimes it is good to lose. When you lose you learn. So it is not bad.

Sometimes it is like that. Sometimes everything is good, sometimes everything is bad. We have to take it and learn from it. If you don’t play 100 per cent you can beaten. I think in this game they want to win more than us.

I think it was a good result against Hibs, but I think in the game we can improve a little bit and keep the ball a little bit more. But it was a good result for us. Everybody is happy. I feel better. I am a little bit tired but that is normal. I feel better on the pitch now.”

With Sevco on Scottish Cup duty on Wednesday Aberdeen can go clear in second place when they take on Ross County on Wednesday.
