Brendan Rodgers is set to sign a goalkeeper before before the end of the transfer window.

Craig Gordon suffered a knee injury during the 1-0 win over Hibs today with Rodgers concerned by the extent of the injury to his first choice keeper.

Rodgers was unwilling to go into detail about Gordon’s knee injury but admitted that he will now have to look at bringing in a keeper before Thursday.

Speaking straight after today’s match the Celtic boss revealed: “Both are struggling (Griffiths and Gordon). Leigh it looks likes his calf, he’s had a few disappointments with them.

Craig’s looks a bit more serious in terms of his knee. We’ll need to have a look at that, have a scan, he could be out for a period of time.

We certainly might have to look at the goalkeeper situation (in terms of the transfer window). We sent young Conor Hazard out on loan during the week to get experience, he could be a very good keeper in the future for us but he needs to get games.

So that’s an area that we might need to look at.”

Dorus de Vries replaced Gordon and is viewed as a dependable back up keeper but after 18 months effectively out of action isn’t expected to take over a number one.

The win today, thanks to a first half goal from Griffiths, maintains Celtic’s 11 pooint lead at the top of the table over Aberdeen who beat Kilmarnock 3-1 after falling behind to a Kris Boyd opener.
