Brendan Rodgers has still to decide what to do with Kundai Benyu.

Celtic paid Ipswich Town a development fee for the youngster during the summer but after a couple of early appearances he has dropped out of the first team picture.

Rodgers has predicted a ‘revolving door’ during the January transfer window and has still to decide whether or not to send Benyu out on loan.

Liam Henderson and Eboue Kouassi look like heading out the door which could leave a first team gap for the young midfielder to enjoy some match time.

Benyu is one we’ll gauge,” Rodgers told The Sun. “We brought him in as a development player, but he showed up really well in pre-season.

Do we stick him out on loan, even though he’s just here? Or do we give him six months to get a feel for Celtic, the size of the club, the demands, and the training?

He’s had all of that with some first team experiences. He’s a good kid, but he also needs to play.”

Benyu spent part of last season on loan at Aldershot after falling out with Mick McCarthy at Ipswich Town.

Despite struggling to make an impact at Celtic he did earn a call up into the Zimbabwean international squad for the match against Lesoto in November.

Benyu will be part of the Celtic squad that trains in Dubai next week with Rodgers likely to decide towards the end of the month before deciding on his future.
