Sevco will have to pay up to get rid of Bruno Alves.
According to a report in the Daily Record the Ibrox side have agreed a deal with Italian side Benveneto but the defender will have to take a significant pay cut to complete the deal.
Having watched Carlos Pena return to Mexico on loan with Sevco continuing to pay the bulk of his wages it’s highly unlikely that Alves will agree to a pay cut on his contract which runs until June 2019.
That will leave Sevco having to make up his wages or see last summer’s marquee signing return to Ibrox to drain wages with Russell Martin taking his place in the side.

Having brought in four loan signings so far in January Sevco are in even greater need of shifting players out the door or bringing in some transfer fees.
James Tavernier and Josh Windass are the most likely players to be on the move with interest from the English Championship likely in the final day of the transfer window.
