Sevco have put a £10m price tag on Alfredo Morelos.
According to a report in the Evening Times the fee has been applied to scare clubs away from the Columbian ace.
Last January Barrie McKay was rated at £6m before being sold to Nottingham Forest in the summer for £550,000.
Sevco singed Morelos from HJK Helsinki for £750,000 last June and have been rewarded with 12 domestic goals this season.
Yesterday The Sun pulled a story that claimed that Bristol City were ready to bid £2m after a scout for the Championship club used twitter to deny the story.
With their current dire finances it’s hard to see Sevco turning down a £9m offer for Morelos despite the spin of his stats.
The Columbian failed to score against Progres Niederkorn, hasn’t scored in two matches against Celtic or in the Betfred Cup semi-final against Motherwell.
Sevco have still to spend a penny on transfer fees during the transfer window with Brighton refusing their instalment plan to sign Jamie Murphy.
