Hard up Sevco are weighing up whether they can afford a three night stay in the Highlands!

Graeme Murty’s side face Ross County on Sunday on SPFL duty then have a Scottish Cup tie at Fraserburgh three days later.

Rather than endure two lengthy coach journey’s in the depth of winter the professional view would be to stay over between both matches.

The organisers of the Florida Cup were able to provide flights and accommodation for a week long stay in the sunshine state but it seems that three nights in Forres or Fochabers would be beyond the Ibrox budget.

Explaining the situation to The Sun Murty said: “I was disappointed because we had prepped properly and it means we have to go back up there on a Wednesday evening but it is just one of those things. You can’t legislate for the weather.

I actually felt sorry for Fraserburgh at the weekend because they worked really hard to get the game on only for it to be called off.

That was to be their big day and we’ll just have to make sure we put on a good show when we go up there on Wednesday.

We are talking at the moment about whether we stay up after Ross County or whether we come back. I think it might be too long to stay up there but we’ll see.

All options will be explored and we will make sure we get the right thing done for the players so they can prep correctly.”

So far in the transfer window Sevco haven’t spent anything on transfer fees and are believed to be trying to offload a number of players.

Bruno Alves is trying to negotiate a pay off to go to Italy while a couple of Championship sides are keen on James Tavernier and Josh Windass if the price is low enough.
