Danny Wilson will undergo a medical with Colorado Rapids today as the Ibrox clearance gets underway.

The former Liverpool defender wore the armband of dignity when Bruno Alves hobbled out of the derby with Celtic last month but now, less than a month later, according to The Sun he is ready to join the MLS outfit.

Wilson’s Ibrox contract runs until the end of the season and with no new offer on the table as a flood of loanees come in he has decided to walk away.

The 26-year-old signed a three year deal in 2015 after leaving Hearts and was restored to first team duty as soon as Graeme Murty took over as caretaker.

Wilson was left out of the squad for the match against Aberdeen as Murts went with Russell Martin and David Bates in central defence, both of who are out of contract at the end of the season.
