Celtic will face St Johnstone for a place in the semi-finals of the SFA Youth Cup after the Perth side beat Sevco 2-1 today.

After hammering Bayern Munich 2-1 away from home on Saturday Craig Mulholland’s future stars found the going much tougher in this afternoon’s clash at New Central Park in Kelty.

The visitors took the lead on the half hour mark but Saints were back on level terms before half time when Shaun Struthers equalised.

Ally McCann put St Johnstone in front ten minutes into the second half with the Munich Masters unable to come up with an equaliser.

St Johnstone are currently in tenth place in the Development League with four wins and eight defeats from 15 matches.

The defeat ends Sevco’s competitive matches for the season with Mulholland’s side reduced to playing glamour friendlies through until May.

After extensive coverage of their win over Bayern it seems that the official Sevco website is pretending that today’s defeat didn’t take happen.

Celtic have still to arrange a date for the cup tie with St Johnstone but face St Mirren at Cappielow on Monday (kick off 6pm) and Hamilton at Lennoxtown on Thursday (kick off 6pm).
