Sevco have missed out on Jamie Walker to Wigan Athletic.
During the summer transfer window the Ibrox side were strongly linked with a move for the Hearts winger and had a bid totalling £500,000 turned down.
Walker was dropped from the Hearts side at the start of the season due to the links with a Scott Allan type campaign launched to ensure a ‘dream move to his boyhood heroes’.
With his contract finishing at the end of the season Hearts were ready to do business but not at a knock down price.
Sevco’s lack of cash became obvious with their attempt to recruit Derek McInnes and sign Jamie Walker on a permanent deal with their ‘interest’ in Walker going out with a whimper.
Wigan made a formal approach to Hearts for the midfielder and completed the deal with the assistance of the Edinburgh side.
So far in the transfer window Sevco have brought in two loan players and not spent a penny on new players.
