Brendan Rodgers will discover today whether Kris Ajer will be fit to face Dundee.

The defender suffered a head knock from Jozo Simunovic during the 2-0 win away to Dundee on Sunday.

Ajer has been Celtic’s outstanding defender since coming into the side in December and stood up to be counted during the win at Pittodrie.

After the match his head injury was examined with Rodgers leaving a decision with the medics before finalising his team for the visit of Neil McCann’s side.

Kris has suffered from the head knock and we’ll need to see how he is in the next 24 hours,” the Celtic manager revealed to the Evening Times.

He ended up with his head all bandaged up like Rab C. Nesbitt! The problem is above his eye. He obviously needed stitched up on the pitch but after the game his eye fully closed.”

If Ajer fails to recover Jack Hendry would be the natural replacement to come in to partner Simunovic although Marvin Compper could be an option.

Mikael Lustig will definitely miss the match through suspension with Anthony Ralston and Cristian Gamboa in contention to play at right back.

The match against Dundee is the last midweek fixture before the winter break with Rodgers hopeful that Boyata and Stuart Armstrong will soon be back in his plans.
