Olivier Ntcham is confident that Moussa Dembele can rediscover his goal touch.

A year ago the former Fulham striker was genuinely scoring for fun as Celtic charged their way towards the treble.

The 21-year-old missed the start of the season through injury but after a mini goal burst in the autumn he has only scored once since netting from the penalty spot against Motherwell in the final of the Betfred Cup.

Dembele picked up a nasty ankle injury that day and has had to share striking duties with Leigh Griffiths and Odsonne Edouard as Brendan Rodgers rotates his squad and tries to find the right blend.

Ntcham has quietly become more influential on the Celtic side and is confident that his international team-mate can come up with the goods against Zenit St Petersburg.

Looking towards Thursday’s match the midfielder told The Sun: “I hope for the team that Moussa can score a goal over in Russia.

He was holding the ball up for us a lot in the first leg. When you are a defender, it must be difficult to play against a big and strong striker like Moussa.

It must always be hard to come up against that and he is a great player But it is not just down to one player. We all must try to do things, but Moussa can always score and play well.”
