Chris Sutton believes that Alfredo Morelos is worth more than £8m!
Any player is worth what a club is willing to pay for him but despite pushing the player strongly at English Championship sides there was no interest in January in the 13 goal striker.
Creating a mystery bid from a mystery club in China has created a can of worms at Ibrox with the player confused after reading stories about wages of £70,000/week.
There are still a few countries where the transfer window remains open with Sutton believing that a genuine bid could be on the way for the uncapped Colombia ace.
“Listen, I am like most people and I can’t for the life of me fathom why Rangers would knock back £8m for Morelos,” he admitted in the Daily Record.
“But unlike some, I think he’s worth that amount – at least. I don’t know what the financial situation is at Rangers but you’d think that kind of money would come in handy right now.
“It could be they think there is the chance to get more though and if that is the case they are right to hold out.
“There’s no way they could reject £10m and I doubt any Rangers fans would complain too much if that kind of offer came in.
“If that’s what some club is willing to pay then that’s what he’s worth, simple as that.”
Unfortunately for Sevco there is no club willing to buy any of their players as their wage bill for third place continues to soar..
The return of Andy Halliday and Micky O’Halloran plus four new loanees and Greg Docherty has hardly been balanced by sending Carlos Pena on loan and shifting out Danny Wilson.
Sevco’s last accounts highlighted a £7m shortfall anticipated before June 2019, if the Morelos interest was genuine then Dave King could have saved himself from shelling out another chunk of his childrens inheritance.
