Kris Boyd wasn’t cracking many jokes as he kept an eye on the SPFL goals from the Sky Sports News studio this afternoon.
The former Scotland striker has tried to style himself on Ally McCoist with a laugh and gag for everything but like the former Question of Sport skipper the hurt of Celtic being successful cuts deep.
Since the turn of the year the Clement Revolution! has given Boyd hope of rolling into Celtic Park for the final Glasgow Derby smiling from ear to ear but over the last month the SPFL has returned to a familiar and depressing script.
When the going gets tough Celtic tend to move up a gear, when your captain is James Tavernier things usually take a downturn with Boyd witnessing the saga many times.

Steven Naismith and Lawrence Shankland offered Boyd some hope today but two first half goals from Scotland’s top striker almost settled the issue.
In the 88th minute Matt O’Riley finished today’s match as a contest, now Boyd has to put his professional head on for tomorrow’s Sky Sports nerve-shredder from Ibrox.
There are 3 Clubs I really don’t like…Sevco…Their reserve team from Tynecastle…and their youth team from Rugby Park…But occasionally I’ll wish one of them well…MON THE KILLIE.
Kris certainly wasn’t Bouyd up with the result and performance – But I certainly was !
