Chris Sutton didn’t pull any punches as Celtic fell to their second domestic defeat of the season at Kilmarnock.

The hoops were well out of sorts on the plastic pitch at Rugby Park and took until the 85th minute before registering a shot on target and winning a corner.

Kilmarnock crowded Celtic out and took their chances with Youssouf Mulumbu scoring the only goal of the game in the 69th minute.

Charly Musonda started his first match as a Celtic player but had little chance to impress as Killie closed down and pressed with the kid on loan from Chelsea crowded out.

Early injuries to Dedryck Boyata and Kris Ajer upset Celtic’s rhythm with Eboue Kouassi replaced by Odsonne Edouard after the Kilmarnock goal.

Brendan Rodgers now has a full week to assess the walking wounded ahead of Saturday’s Scottish Cup tie against Partick Thistle followed by the Europa League home leg against Zenit St Petersburg.
