From the moment John Beaton blew the final whistle on Celtic’s 0-0 draw with St Johnstone three ifs were dominating the thoughts of the gullible and deluded.
The first one was if Sevco beat Hearts on Saturday followed by an if for Aberdeen beating Celtic and completed by the if of Celtic losing at Ibrox on March 11.

In 20 months Brendan Rodgers has suffered just two domestic defeats but according to the dreams he was just two ifs away from handing the title on a plate to Sevco!
Unfortunately goals from Moussa Dembele and Kieran Tierney killed off one of those ifs at Pittodrie today leaving Sevco fans to channel their enthusiasm into the battle for second place.
With four loan players to return to their clubs in May and the first £4m of season ticket money being used to repay Close Brothers it could be a long long time before the if argument gets another airing.
