Odsonne Edouard has revealed that Kolo Toure has acted as his big brother since moving to Celtic.

The former Arsenal and Liverpool defender has an incredible reputation throughout the game and joined the Celtic coaching staff at the start of the season.

Edouard was a late loan signing from Paris Saint Germain and faced a struggle for game time up against Moussa Dembele and Leigh Griffiths.

A hat-trick against Motherwell in December served notice of what he was capable of while his goal at Ibrox will never be forgotten by the fans who witnessed the ball hit the back of the net.

Settling into a new club in a new country is never easy with Toure playing a special role for the young striker.

In an interview with France Football Edouard said: “From my first day, I had the chance to find Moussa Dembélé and Olivier Ntcham, they are used to the British football, and they directed me. It helps to have French people at his side.

The rest of the club was great, I am thinking in particular of Kolo Touré who plays the role of big brother with us all.He is very present, he talks to me a lot and encourages me.”

Edouard is on loan until the end of the season and wasn’t prepared to discuss his future beyond that date in the interview.
