Tam McManus is incredibly sad that Scottish football fans, and Celtic supporters in particular, can’t move on.

The BBC Scotland pundit is a huge fan of Alex McLeish who gave him his breakthrough at Hibs.

Moving on is the phrase used by those apologists who’d like to turn a blind eye to a decade of industrial scale cheating in the Scottish game.

That cheating- paying players and managers through ‘tax free’ offshore accounts not declared to the SFA and SPL- has never been addressed or punished with many of the biggest culprits working their way back into the centre of the Scottish game.

McLeish picked up £1.7m in EBT payments and admitted to the BBC that the scheme used to recruit players was needed to compete with Celtic.

A proper investigation leading to the removal of titles won by ineligible players would be enough for most fans.

Celtic fans are split in half over whether they deserve the titles or whether an asterisk in the record books would be more effective to highlight the ‘successes’ of McLeish, Dave Murray and others.
