After the euphoria of winning at Ibrox it’s back to business at Motherwell on Saturday with the Premiership title as little as five wins away.

The win over Sevco was achieved despite being some way short of full strength but in Tom Rogic and Moussa Dembele Brendan Rodgers has two players coming good at the business end of the season.

It has been hot and cold since the turn of the year but with a healthy lead at the top of the table and wins at Pittodrie and Ibrox fresh in the mind the team can now kick on.

Going forward Celtic were a constant threat but at the back it was edge-of-your-seat stuff as Jozo Simunovic and Dedryck Boyata struggled to repeat the form that they displayed in their last two visits to Ibrox.

With a comfortable lead at the top and Simunovic suspended Rodgers can take a close look at the youthful combination of Jack Hendry and Kris Ajer.

Winning the title is the obvious priority but Rodgers is always looking to the medium term and will want to assess how the Ajer and Hendry partnership looks with a view to next season’s Champions League qualifiers.
