Barry Ferguson is facing another massive tax bill after a top tier tribunal ruled against the £2.2bn Eclipse tax scam.

According to a report in The Mirror HMRC has won the final stage of the dispute with 780 investors which could see them hit with a bill for TWENTY times the amount that they invested in the schemes.

Ferguson declared himself bankrupt in 2017 with most of his property and business assets transferred into his wife’s name.

Glenn Hoddle, Alex Ferguson and Sven Goran Eriksson are also named in the report as well as Gordon Durie who has already been declared bankrupt.

Ferguson could also be liable for income tax and national insurance for the £2.5m of EBT payments that he received after returning to Rangers (IL) in 2005 from Blackburn Rovers.

As well as his misfortune with tax efficiency schemes and investments Ferguson recently claimed that Brendan Rodgers got lucky at Ibrox when Jozo Simunovic was sent off!

As well as his column with the Daily Record Ferguson is a regular on Radio Scotland, especial in shows involving Kenny Macintyre.
