McCall’s concern

Stuart McCall is worried by the noise coming out of Ibrox.

Sunday’s Scottish Cup semi final pairing with Celtic was met with a roar from the home dressing room after beating Falkirk on Sunday.

Rookie boss Graeme Murty revealed that reaction in an interview with the club television station confirming the cockiness of his squad.

The excitement of overtaking Aberdeen in the battle for second place has sent excitement through the roof at Ibrox but McCall knows that the only taking that matters is on the park.

Warning Murty’s men to pipe down the former Bradford boss told the Daily Record: “If everyone’s available Rangers have options but my advice to them would be to play the game and keep their mouths shut.

There are still a few younger guys getting to know what it’s all about. They won’t have played in this type of game.

My advice to them would be let your football do the talking. Don’t get caught up in hype.

I saw the fans turn on Josh Windass the other week after he shushed them at Partick Thistle.

And I thought, ‘just keep your mouth shut’ because you can be great for a bit but all you need to do is lose 1-0 and that’s it. Yeah everyone is talking about Rangers, that’s fine but keep the pressure off.”

Sevco go into Sunday’s match on the back of a four match winning run in the Premiership but that form doesn’t impress the bookies who have priced the tribute act at 3/1 with Celtic just under even money to take full points.
