Anthony Ralston will step up his return from injury when Celtic face Hibs in the Development League today.

The young hoops face the league leaders at the Hibs Training Centre at 12 noon today with the right-back in line for his second appearance of the year.

A knee injury in September put his season on hold but last month he played 90 minutes against St Johnstone in the SFA Youth Cup and was on the first team bench against St Johnstone.

The return of a fully fit Ralston would be a big boost for Brendan Rodgers as the business end of the season begins.

With Mikael Lustig off to the World Cup in Sweden there will be a vacancy at right-back for the European qualifiers with Ralston getting a taste of the standards required when he faced up to Paris St Germain earlier this season.

Celtic trail league leaders Hibs by 14 points going into today’s match but have five games in hand as they attempt to clear the backlog from their UEFA Youth League commitments.
