Gordon Strachan expects Celtic to burst the Sevco bubble on Sunday.

The former Scotland boss has listened to the noise building up from Ibrox but is unconvinced about the substance underneath.

After celebrating wildly a 0-0 draw at Celtic Park in December a repeat of that scoreline on Sunday would be a massive dissapointment for the expectant Ibrox hordes.

As well as dealing with the six times champions Graeme Murty has to cope with sky high expectations which were fuelled when he revealed that the Scottish Cup semi-final draw was greeted like a last minute winner in the Ibrox dressing room.

Strachan has watched Celtic dominate the fixture- winning three on the spin at Ibrox- and expects another away win on Sunday afternoon.

If you think you are improving only to find out you’re not it’s a helluva fall,” the former Scotland boss told the Daily Record.

Most people are thinking about how it will affect Celtic if they get beat but it’s just as important to ask how it will affect Rangers. They are bombing along right now with their momentum going and thinking they are getting closer.

How will they react if all of a sudden the wheels are blown off? I’m heavily tipping Celtic to go there and win.

The Rangers players are up for it, or so I hear, but then we can all make noises but if that really is the case then the reverberations of that will bring a reaction from the Celtic players and give them an extra edge.

So by creating this enthusiasm, extra energy and confidence Rangers now have to face the consequence.”

Sunday’s match is the first of three between the two clubs before the end of the season with Hampden hosting the Scottish Cup semi-final on April 15 and the final Premiership fixture of the season at Celtic Park.
