The prospect of David Murray bailing out Sevco has been dismissed by The Sun.

Just after midnight The Express published a report full of the usual bluster about the multi-millionaire Knight of the Realm ready to pump millions into the ailing tribute act.

Liquidation and Craig Whyte were touched on but the glories of Paul Gascoigne, Brian Laudrup and Walter Smith were bigged up.

After initially running with the story The Sun dismissed the claim, presumably after contacting someone in the Murray camp or inside Ibrox.

Murray used the Bank of Scotland and other investors such as ENIC and Dave King to fuel his plan for global domination before turning to tax evasion.

Half of the old board that served under ‘the chairman’ are now back wearing blazers at Ibrox while Murray, now aged 66 remains on the outside.

King is believed to be deeply resentful at the way his £20m investment was frittered away although there are credible reports that the money was cleaned and found it’s way back to South Africa.

This month promises to be a critical one in the blue room of dignity with King promising to come up with the £11m needed to comply with the order from the Takeover Appeal Board.

Whoever decided to send out the Murray story will know King’s reaction to that option with both men like nothing better than power, glory and adulation using their favourite currency- Other People’s Money.
