What is causing the delay?

The SPFL are clearly having a problem trying to reschedule Celtic’s postponed match against Dundee.

Yesterday the match was called off before 10am, a decision welcomed by all ahead of a red weather warning that would have made watching and playing a football match complete madness.

In the old days the re-arranged date would be announced straight away, the first available date which happens to be next week.

For whatever reason there is still no announcement when the match will be scheduled.

It seems that the new procedure is that the two clubs agree on a date but that allows other factors to come into play- and leaves supporters out in the cold.

With the weather looking unlikely to pick up over the weekend it seems that the SPFL are looking at the possibility of the Celtic v Morton match being postponed and having to be re-arranged.

Whether that game is postponed or not shouldn’t be a factor, as of Thursday lunchtime there is a blank midweek coming up and the Celtic v Dundee game should be slotted in for Tuesday or Wednesday.

With that date booked we can wait to see what Saturday brings, if the game with Morton is off it can be played on March 14.

It really ought to be straightforward, supporters deserve to know what they can be doing next midweek.
