Bad night for Murty

Without kicking a ball last night things got much much tougher for Graeme Murty.

When he left his office at the state-of-the-art Murray Park training complex last night the Sevco caretaker was in charge of a company sitting in second place in the SPFL Premiership. This morning they are a point off fourth place.

After taking one point from three matches and being fed a constant diet of job warnings from the old club that was placed in liquidation in 2012 it seemed that Murts was getting a bit of a break last night as Hibs and Aberdeen went in on level terms at half-time in their games in hand over Sevco.

Both teams were still being held an hour into their matches before it all went wrong cranking up the pressure on the former Reading utility man.

The cheering at Easter Road from Florian Kamberi putting Hibs in front of Hamilton had hardly died down when there was a double roar at Fir Park as Kari Arnason and Kenny McLean both found the net for Aberdeen.

Within ten minutes Murty’s world had changed, Sevco trail three points behind Aberdeen with Hibs a point behind the tribute act.

After seven home defeats another loss at Ibrox to Dundee on Saturday is unthinkable.

At the top of the table Celtic are nine points clear of Aberdeen, which is exactly the number of points that Derek McInnes’ side have lost to Sevco.
