Billy Dodds has over stepped the mark after putting the boot into Brendan Rodgers and Scott Brown.

The former Ross County assistant manager effectively told the Celtic boss to pipe down and let the SFA get on with administering justice on Andrew Davies.

After launching his defence of the County defender Dodds went on to discuss Brown’s red card away to County last April.

The red card was reduced to yellow on appeal but Dodds’ description of the incident is worth noting.

Apparently after the match there were scrape marks from Boyce’s knee down to his ankle which seems completely at odds with video footage from the match.

Brown’s tackle was a bad one, it was borderline between a red and yellow but there was absolutely no contact with Boyce’s knee. Just as there was no contact between Erik Sviatchenko and the diving Alex Schalk.

Take a look below at the video from the match, Brown’s challenge is shown in slow motion at 1 minute and 40 seconds.

Discussing that incident Dodds told The Sun: “I think back to a horrendous challenge Brown made on Liam Boyce last season, when Rodgers came out after the game and said he didn’t see it.

Well, I saw the scrape marks from Boycie’s knee down to his ankle in the dressing room, and it wasn’t pretty.

You are not trying to tell me Scott Brown didn’t try to wipe out Boyce and do him some damage.”

Since being sacked by Ross County Dodds has been a regular on Radio Scotland alongside Alex Rae, Steven Thompson and Kris Boyd.
