Neil McCann believes that Dundee are ready to de-rail Celtic’s title charge.

Brendan Rodgers’ side face Dundee on Wednesday knowing that a maximum of ten points are required to clinch the title.

McCann’s side are involved at the other end of the table with today’s draw at home to Hearts lifting them four points clear of Partick Thistle who currently occupy the play-off spot.

The Dundee boss should have been watching the midweek action from the Directors Box but put in an appeal against a two match touchline ban after his clash with the St Johnstone bench after a 4-0 home defeat

Despite taking just four points from their last five matches McCann believes that his side can become the first Scottish side to defeat Brendan Rodgers’ side on home soil.

This will give us confidence and you need that going to Glasgow twice in a week,” the Dens Park boss told The Sun.

We will take a lot of trust and belief from that performance. It is going to be a big, big task to go there twice in quick succession.

But the biggest thing for me is that when we’re on it we can cause teams like Celtic and Rangers problems but we have to be at our best.

The breathing space we have could be wiped out in one game so I am not looking into things too much.

We just have to recover now and get ready for Wednesday. I thought we were fantastic.”

Rodgers will have a number of selection issues to resolve for Wednesday night with Patrick Roberts and Leigh Griffiths coming off the bench during the 3-0 win over Ross County on Saturday.
