Murty hits the depths

Graeme Murty believes that Sevco hit a speed bump on Sunday at Hampden.

The Ibrox caretaker looked and sounded decidedly edgy as he faced the media on Friday with some smirks not fooling anyone about the inner turmoil that he is going through.

A Real Rangers Man would have been afforded sympathy and respect but for an outsider, as Paul le Guen and Pedro Caixinha discovered there is a distinct lack of dignity when it comes to outsiders.

For six months Murty has been getting by on buzzwords as he discusses development, improvement and journeys in the same manner as a Sales Manager would.

The language has been repetitive and dry- yesterday he came up with a new phrase to describe what to most observers was a public humiliation.

Reporting on his Q and A with the written press Murts was asked if he felt that the whole club was pulling in the right direction he told the Daily Record: “I believe that we hit a significant speed bump on Sunday. That’s going to be a headline now isn’t it?”

Murts has five more speed-bumps to negotiate this season, unfortunately after the visit from Hearts on Sunday his side will go into each of their remaining matches as second favourites.
