Murty under fire

Marcel Keizer has been thrown into the mix in the campaign to undermine Graeme Murty.

The 49-year-old was sacked by Ajax in December after just 17 matches in charge which makes him the Dutch equivalent of Pedro Caixinha without the bullfighting and caravan stories.

According to a report in The Sun Keizer is interested in talking to Sevco but unless he enjoys working with no money under a rudderless board led by a criminal chairman it is hard to see the talks having a positive outcome.

With season ticket renewals issued at the start of the week the Ibrox support is in need of good news stories with Frank de Boer apparently the bookies favourite to be in charge at the start of next season.

Dave King promised supporters a manager capable of bringing instant success in return for their cash with Keizer the sort of name that will excite fans who remember the tax cheating days of Dick Advocaat.

Any candidate for the job is likely to sound out Mark Warburton and Derek McInnes about what the job involves which will rule out anyone but the most desperate of out of work bosses.

Billy Davies is still looking for a management job.
