Dermot Desmond has admitted that he wouldn’t stand in Brendan Rodgers’ way of joining Arsenal.
The Irish billionaire is notoriously secretive about his business and unlike many in football doesn’t go out of his way to cultivate media relations.
Desmond has given little away during his 24 year involvement with Celtic but strangely was interviewed by Sky Sports shortly after Arsene Wenger announced that he was stepping down at the end of the season.

Wenger’s announcement has been greeted with a frenzy of media speculation- the last time that Arsenal were looking for a new manager was in the last century!
As Celtic wrap up another league title there is bound to be more speculation linking Rodgers to the vacancy.
With a salary on a par with most EPL bosses and a highly incentivised bonus system Rodgers will almost certainly be at Celtic for longer than Wenger’s successor will be in place at The Emirates.
