Within minutes of Arsene Wenger announcing his decision to quit Arsenal at the end of the season Celtic published what can only be interpreted as a ‘forget it’ message to the English club.

As recently as yesterday Brendan Rodgers was telling a media conference about how happy he was at Celtic as another bout of speculation emerged that he was on his way to replace Wenger at Arsenal.

The Irishman is one year into a four year contract at Celtic but two factions have constantly been pushing for Rodgers to quit.

The Celtic website stated at 10.01 this morning

BRENDAN Rodgers has insisted that he couldn’t be happier as Celtic manager as his side close in on a seventh successive title

English media types can’t understand life outside their own little bubble and would love to have a media friendly boss to deal with rather than struggle to build up any type of relationship with characters such as Pep Guardiola or Antio Conte.

Sevco fans are utterly desperate to see the back of Rodgers, almost as much as fans of the old Rangers club wanted to see Henrik Larsson leave Celtic.

According to some Rodgers is holding things together at Celtic with his departure likely to see the club crumble from top to bottom.

The former Liverpool boss won’t be at Celtic forever but only a fool would bet against him outlasting the unfortunate person chosen to succeed Wenger at The Emirates.
