Hurting Alex Rae can’t believe that Scott Brown has criticised the Hampden pitch.
As a no-nonsense midfielder the condition of the pitch rarely mattered to Rae who preferred to mark the man rather than play the ball.
After a day of glorious sunshine at Hampden the groundstaff refused to water the pitch at half time with the quality of the game going downhill after the break.
Scott Brown suggesting @ScottishFA trying to hamper them winning the cup at weekend for not watering the pitch at HT with 2 goal lead
Seriously ????!!!— Alex Rae (@alexrae1969) May 24, 2018
Having read his comments, which I suspect you haven’t, he’s saying that the SFA has a duty to try and improve the quality of football in Scotland and making basic rules as exist in most top league’s and comps regarding the standard of pitches is a good start

Brown said: “They didn’t water the pitch at half-time to try and stop us playing but it didn’t stop us, we still tried to play our game.
Did he not say this

In you experience Alex does a ground that is watered make it easier for good players to play or are you not qualified to answer?

Imagine he hadn’t been registered properly with the SFA and was recieving undeclared earnings?
That would be actual cheating!— Scottsman78 ???? (@Scottsman1978) May 24, 2018
You would think Rae would be too busy with some Addams Family off-Broadway work.

Regardless of result. Teams playing etc. Why wouldn’t you water the pitch on a scorcher of a day like Saturday. Would have surely made for a better standard of game?

Two questions have you paid back that EBT? Also what information did Barry have that he didn’t pass on? Just think you could have also pretended to be bankrupt just like that snake???????????????????? pic.twitter.com/UfsPKaLMa5

I find it baffling that people don’t say nothing to these ex players who helped kill Rangers. History will always view them as running away in the clubs time of need.

If he made the point after we lost could understand why you’re questioning it … did Wembley get watered? Yes? Does pitch normally get watered? Perhaps you should question why protocol was broke.

While Brown was commenting on the condition of the pitch at Hampden Celtic have been laying their new hybrid system which costs the best part of £2m to install.
Brendan Rodgers quickly identified a new pitch as a priority when he took over from Ronny Deila but due to the short nature of the close season that task has been staggered over two summers.
Celtic fans will get to see the new pitch in mid-July with the first matches of next season taking place on July 10/11 and 17/18.
