John Hartson believes that Celtic have too many match-winners for Motherwell with two of them likely to start the Scottish Cup Final on the bench.

This season hasn’t got close to the heights of last term but with one match left to play Brendan Rodgers’ squad are on the brink of history.

Jock Stein and Martin O’Neill managed the hoops to three treble successes but neither of them were able to produce back-to-back trebles.

Rodgers takes Celtic to Hampden on Saturday with the record within reach and able to call upon a quartet of players capable of changing a game in one movement.

Looking forward to the match in the Evening Times Hartson said: “Celtic have some match-winners Motherwell don’t have. Look at the likes of Tom Rogic and Moussa Dembele, these guys are big-game players who time and again have shone for Celtic on the big stage.

You also have guys such as Scott Sinclair. I know he’s not had his best season but there always was going to be a bit of a dip on the back of his stunning debut in Scotland.

Leigh Griffiths hasn’t had the bounce of the ball recently but he’s desperate to get a starting berth. They are all match-winners.

We know on paper Celtic are stronger than Motherwell but we’ve seen in cup finals before where the favourite can have an off day and the other team can get a bit of luck.

Stephen’s side have it in them to pull off a shock but I just think that Celtic on the back of the defeat to Aberdeen will say to themselves ‘look let’s not take this game lightly’.

I know it was the last game of the season and everyone was perhaps looking at this one coming up, but I still feel Brendan Rodgers and his team will have enough to get by Motherwell.

If they do, they deserve huge credit for what would be a truly remarkable achievement not just in the club’s history, but that of Scottish football.”
