Brighton are in line for a whopping £225,000 bonus if Jamie Murphy helps Sevco into the group phase of the Champions League!

A list of add-on payments have been published by Phil MacGiollabhain who was ahead of the curve when he revealed that the January transfer deal had been turned into a loan after the Ibrox club were unable to make any upfront payment.

With Murphy left behind when Sevco flew out to the Florida Cup a compromise deal was put together that involved three payments of £650,000 for the former Motherwell and Sheffield United winger.

The first payment has now been made- straight from season ticket sales- with further payments scheduled for July 2019 and July 2020.

While the Champions League payment may be far fetched Brighton will pick up £100,000 if Sevco reach the group phase of the Europa League with Steven Gerrard’s side playing in the first qualifying round in July.

With Gerrard brought in to stop Celtic winning eight-in-a-row the prospect of going through eight Europa League qualifiers could have an adverse effect on Sevco’s prospects in the SPFL.
