Foul mouthed Alex McLeish has claimed that Celtic’s success is down to an uneven playing field.

The Scotland boss let go with the f word at half time during Celtic’s 2-0 win over Motherwell that clinched the domestic treble despite the handicap of having to pay full income tax and national insurance on time to Her Majesty.

McLeish certainly knows what an uneven playing field is with his five seasons in charge of Rangers (IL) backed up by disguised remuneration in the form of a so-called EBT scheme.

The new Scotland boss was one of the main beneficiaries of that scam pocketing £1.7m that would normally have been subjected to around £800,000 of deductions to fund schools, hospitals, grass roots sports programmes, royal weddings and our brave armed forces.

Every game that McLeish was in charge of at Ibrox his opponents were playing on an uneven playing field due to SFA compliance with the tax scam as other teams played by the rules of the land.

While moaning about the uneven playing field McLeish will be taking Scott Bain, Jack Hendry, Stuart Armstrong, Ryan Christie and Lewis Morgan on a summer jolly to Peru and Mexico.

If McLeish is to end Scotland’s 22 year wait to take part in a major competition he’ll be strongly reliant on Craig Gordon, Callum McGregor, James Forrest, Kieran Tierney and Leigh Griffiths.

BBC anchor-man Rob MacLean didn’t ask the Scotland boss to elaborate on his claim of an uneven playing field.
