Brendan Rodgers isn’t prepared to engage with the Old Firm fantasists dreaming of an Ibrox title challenge.

The Celtic boss has seen off the challenges from Mark Warburton, Pedro Caixinha and Graeme Murty- sending them off into the wilderness with the number 5 stamped and underlined on their CV.

In two years as Celtic boss Rodgers has seen off enough Ibrox revolutions to know the script back to front and is already hearing the noises from Steven ‘Bring It On’ Gerrard who believes that Celtic have had it too easy in recent seasons.

With his sixth trophy collected and Champions League qualifiers to look forward to there was plenty to discuss after Celtic’s Scottish Cup win over Motherwell.

‘But what about Rangers and the threat from Steven Gerrard’ wasn’t far from someone’s thoughts with Rodgers quick to halt that train of that.

It’s not a conversation, talk about Aberdeen,” Rodgers told The Scotsman. “Aberdeen were second. Derek has done a brilliant job. Talk about them.”

And there the conversation ended.

The deluded and gullible will believe that Rodgers is living in fear of the current Ibrox revolution, the realistic fringe of the Ibrox support will fear Celtic kicking on further with Gerrard back on BT Sport screens permanently before Christmas with Graeme Murty back holding the fort together.
