Ibrox season ticket holders can look forward to Jermain Defoe, Lucas Leiva and Martin Skrtel all signing up for the Steven Gerrard revolution.

A report in The Sun reveals the three top targets while admitting that Sevco can’t afford Brighton reserve Connor Goldson.

Defoe, Lucas and Skrtel are all in their thirties with the first two signing lucrative deals at Bournemouth and Lazio last summer after running down their contracts and moving on as free agents.

While the glamour signings are being speculated over Allan McGregor joined Scott Arfield at Ibrox yesterday as Mark Allen gets on with the more realistic task of signing players up on free transfers.

Defoe is the unlikeliest of today’s three signings after choosing Bournemouth out of a dozen offers following Sunderland’s relegation.

The striker is believed to have negotiated a deal worth over £100,000 but struggled to get into Eddie Howe’s side.

According to the Daily Mail his three year contract is worth a total of £20m.

While Bournemouth would be happy to see the 35-year-old move on pledging £5m a year in wages would be a stretch for a company that lost £6m in the year to June 2017 on a turnover of £29m.

Matching the current wages that the three targets are on would double the wage bill at Ibrox.
