Chris Sutton believes that Neil Lennon’s departure from Hibs would be a massive loss for the Scottish game.

The Hibs boss was deeply unhappy after his side’s 2-1 derby defeat to Hearts with most of his anger aimed at his own players for choosing the wrong type of stud.

In the opening five minutes three Hibs players lost their footing with Lennon claiming that his men had been unprofessional in their preparations.

After the match the Hibs boss told The Sun: “We’ll try to win Sunday and finish as high as possible but I will be considering my position over the summer.

It’s about my own personal aims and ambitions. I can’t watch that in derbies. It’s not good enough.

We’ve got a board meeting next week. So we’ll see.

Nothing lasts forever but I’ve been here two years, made great strides but I’ve got to think about myself.”

Lennon took charge of Hibs in 2016 after Alan Stubbs had managed them to their first Scottish Cup triumph in over 100 years.

Last season they won the Championship at the third attempt and are likely to finish this season in fourth place although they can pip Sevco for third place if they win 6-0 in Sunday’s final SPFL match.
