Celtic have started to rake in the add-ons on the Stuart Armstrong transfer with £100 heading to the Celtic Foundation for song royalties.

Ownership of the song would appear to be with the Green Brigade who started the ‘His Hair is Fine’ song in the early months of 2017.

The song was a slow burner but by the time Armstrong fired in the equaliser against Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup Final it was well established as a fan favourite.

Last season proved to be something of a let-down with the shadow of long drawn out contract discussions effecting the form of the player.

Olivier Ntcham slotted in alongside Scott Brown in the centre of the park with Armstrong struggling to make a case for being in the starting XI.

While Kris Ajer, Scott Bain, Tom Rogic and Olivier Ntcham signed long term deals to stay with Celtic there was no sign of Armstrong doing likewise with yesterday’s announcement from Southampton coming as no surprise.
