“The fact is we want to be in the group stages,” he told The Sun. “So whatever players are available to me will be expected to get results and I’ll be expected to get results.
“It can be difficult to get deals over the line in a short space of time but in terms of that first Europa League game, I don’t prioritise any game. Every game for Rangers is a priority.”
Gerrard will spend this coming week in talks with Mark Allen about signing targets as he begins to discover the real depth of Dave King’s war-chest.
