Celtic fans appear to being won around by Dedryck Boyata.
The phrase ‘In Brendan We Trust’ has never been tested more than when it comes to the former Manchester City.
For half a season it seemed that not even the Celtic boss had trust in Boyata but after a week in Dubai in January 2017 things changed dramatically.
Boyata went straight back into the team, scored some important goals, won a treble and took the unbeaten run to 69 but the doubts remained.
he’s a bombscare. Highly unlikely he’ll even feature unless Injuriesplay apart.

Feature or not he got picked in a defence that includes Kompany/Alderweild/vermaelan/vertogan Not bad for a bomb scare eh…

3-2 game he shouldn’t have played. 6 weeks out. Blame Rodgers.
4-0 game whole team was shit. Blame Tierney/Brown etc Nah, blame Boyata.— Colm (@cohcfc) June 4, 2018
So underrated it’s unreal.

Big man gets more stick than he deserves. He works hard. Well done Dedryck ????

@BelRedDevils @FIFAWorldCup @Belgianfootball Belgium have no chance of winning the world cup if he’s playing.

He’s the best centre half we have and you can disagree if you want but you’re wrong ????

As the goals rained in during the Champions League group phase no one emerged in a favourable light with Marvin Compper apparently the solution to the defensive problems.
Even during Boyata’s six week absence the former RB Leipzig defender failed to make an SPFL appearance.
When the Belgian returned to action he had a mare at Ibrox, presenting Josh Windass with the highlight of his career then replying on Scott Bain to prevent Alfredo Morelos from a similar landmark.
That performance could have been the end of the road for Boyata but he kept his place in the side, slowly winning around his biggest critics.
Like Rodgers, Roberto Martinez has complete faith in the defender- with Vincent Kmpany injured there could be a World Cup campaign lying ahead for Celtic’s ‘bombscare’ defender.
