Steven Gerrard is trying to push two of Pedro Caixinha’s star signings out the door.

A year ago Eduardo Herrera and Fabio Cardosa joined the 2017 Revolution and were given the sort of treatment that greeted Scott Arfield and Connor Goldson.

Great things were predicted with both stars awarded lucrative three year contracts.

The Gerrard Revolution has no place for the Latin aces who were left behind as their teams mates flew out to Spain to prepare for the new season.

Asked about Herrera and Cardoso, Gerrard told The Sun: “I had a conversation with them before we came to Spain and told them their game time would be limited.

I want to give players as much time as possible during the window to find different opportunities.”

Bruno Alves can expect the same treatment when he returns from the World Cup as Gerrard tries to take the best part of £100,000 a week from the company wage bill.

So far Micky O’Halloran, Joe Dodoo and Jason Holt have been removed from the payroll with pressure on Mark Allen to move players on before anyone else can join the Revolution.
